The new ACT exam includes a writing component. While the writing component is listed as an option for students who sign up to take the ACT exam, it is an admission requirement for all entering freshman students at WV public four-year colleges, effective in August 2006.

PCHS College Day

Pendleton County High School College Day is scheduled in late October for both juniors and seniors.

Senior Timeline

August - December Compare colleges, make campus visits and submit admission applications along with test scores and transcripts. Take ACT and / or SAT.
January - February Apply for financial aid — complete the FAFSA after Jan. 1. Note deadlines for all financial aid applications. Investigate all possible sources of aid.
November - May Make some final decisions. Confer with parents and counselors. Submit final transcripts.
