College Admission Standards
for WV public 4-year colleges and universities

Current Requirements:
Required Units (years)
4 English
3 social studies: including US History
3 mathematics: at least Algebra I and one unit higher
3 sciences: two units must be laboratory sciences
Strongly recommended units: 2 foreign languages

Beginning 2006 Fall Semester:
The above requirements plus completing the Writing Assessment on ACT or SAT I exam.

Effective August 2008:
Required Units (years)
4 English
3 social studies: including US History
4 mathematics: three units must be Algebra I & higher
3 science: all courses to be laboratory science
1 Arts
2 foreign language: two units of the same language

Test Scores: ACT 18 (or SAT I equivalent) and 2.0 GPA (WVU & MU -ACT 19 and 2.0 GPA)
