Pendleton County News

Today is an exciting day! Interim Reports should be coming home with all students. Along with their progress reports, students in Grades 3-8 will also bring home their results from the West Virginia Summative Assessment last spring.

These reports provide important information regarding a student’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as available resources and steps that parents can take to help their student succeed. While it is always important that Pendleton County Schools obtain a valid measure of a student’s academic achievement, it was even more critical this year to collect assessment data to determine what, if any, impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our students' learning. Results from the assessment help teachers and school administrators pinpoint areas of weakness and identify possible achievement gaps. This then allows teachers to adjust their instruction for each individual student.

Parents are encouraged to review the reports and guides and to contact their student’s teacher(s) to discuss the results in more detail if needed.
