Dear Parents and Guardians:
Brandywine Elementary wants to continue to highlight the importance of attendance. Last school year we won the Pendleton County Attendance Cup. Our attendance has also been fantastic this year and I want to thank all students and parents! Our goal will continue to be high expectations that lead to student growth. Attendance is at the top of that list. Please see below the BES attendance incentives for the 2023-24 school year.
• 2 Week Attendance Flag - Every 2 weeks the classroom with the best attendance percentage will receive 30 minutes of extra recess or fun activity at the teacher's discretion. Our BES Attendance Flag will be placed outside of their classroom and the Attendance Cup will travel to the winning classroom.
• Perfectly Royal Attendance – A bulletin board outside the library will display all the students' names who achieve perfect attendance for each 2-week period. At the end of each month there will be PK-2 and 3-6 drawing for these students for a $25 gift card of their choice. If a student has perfect attendance for the whole month, their name will be placed in the drawing 2 times!
• PBIS Incentive – This incentive rewards positive behavior and attendance as detailed in our student handbook on page 6 and 19. An incentive trip will be taken for PK-2 and 3-6 for each semester. A student may not have 6 or more tardies or 3 or more unexcused absences each semester to earn the PBIS incentive. Please continue to write parent notes (up to 5 per semester) and turn in medical notes anytime your student is absent so they will be coded as an excused absence.
• Faithful & Perfect Attendance – Each semester there will be a PK-2 and 3-6 Faithful (2 ½ days or less) and Perfect Attendance drawing. The Faithful Attendance prize will be Bluetooth JBL headphones and the Perfect Attendance prize will be an Amazon Fire Tablet.
• End of Year Attendance Incentive – A drawing will be done at the end of the school year for all students PK-6 who achieve Faithful (5 days or less) and Perfect Attendance for the entire 2023-24 school year. The winner of this drawing will receive a 32-inch TCL Smart Roku TV.
