Students working to learn about seed germination.

Mrs. Rightsell believes that if you give children vegetables, they will eat for a day. But, if you teach children to garden, you have fed them for a lifetime.

Mrs. Rightsell's 6th grade class will be using the hydroponics tower garden, donated by Scott and Marcia Somerville, to grow herbs and vegetables in their classroom.

Before they start their seeds, the students are conducting experiments to determine the parts of a seed and what seeds need to germinate. The students are looking forward to germinating their garden seeds next week and planting them in their tower garden.
