Pendleton County High School Educators Rising members recently attended the 2026 Spring WV Educators Rising Conference at Canaan Valley Resort, March 2 - 4. The career technical student organization's mission is to inspire and grow current and rising educators to become community leaders and advocates for high quality education. This is accomplished through high school chapters and courses, along with being involved in conferences and competitions.
Pendleton County High had three members participate in the event this year. Those attending the conference were Callie Dunn, Larissa Greathouse, and Vivian Pownell. During the conference members were able to network with Educators Rising members from across the state and enjoy educational sessions.
Members attending the spring conference participated in competitive events. This year the following members competed: Dunn in Educators Rising Moment and Pownell in the Children’s Literature pre-school level. Dunn also ran for a state officer position.

Congratulations to Dunn for earning 1st place in Educators Rising Moment and Pownell for earning 2nd place in the Children’s Literature pre-school with her book (written and illustrated) Minnie makes messes.
