Pendleton County Alumni; Alaina (Laney) See, Reyenne Colaw, Marissa Hoover, Kelsey Alt, and Lindsey Houck served this Summer with AmeriCorps doing Energy Express through the WVU Grant County Extension Service. Energy Express is a summer reading and nutrition program that serves more than 3,000 elementary age students annually. Members who serve in Energy Express help students gain or maintain reading levels, as well as promote creative art, drama, and recreational activities. Members who serve with Energy Express also complete a community service project as part of their national service with AmeriCorps. This year, members sponsored a school supply drive donating a box of supplies to all the surrounding Tri-County elementary schools, including Franklin Elementary, Brandywine Elementary, and North Fork Elementary Schools. We thank these young ladies for their service and commitment for the betterment of their local communities.
