Final Session

PCMHS Communities In Schools sponsored Mental Health Week the last week of September.  September is also suicide prevention month.  The week focused on self-care activities and the promotion of positive mental health.  Each day was a different theme/spirit day representing aspects of mental health including twin day for positive peer relationship building, tie dye day for healthy emotional expression, and pajama day for relaxation and self reflection, and Wildcat fam day for team building.

Activities were available to students each day for voluntary participation including music and dance, free play, guided visualization, and body relaxation, as well as self-care BINGO with prizes encouraging such activities at home.  Friday highlighted guest speaker, Jennifer Taylor-Ide, who spoke about emotional balance.  At the end of the week the students received gift from CIS, a "stress less kit" featuring sensory items and destress goodies.
