📣 ATTENDANCE MATTERS—and we’re making it FUN at Brandywine Elementary! ❤️🖤

We’re excited to share our 2026–2027 Attendance Incentives! This year, our students and classrooms have lots of opportunities to be recognized and rewarded for making attendance a priority! 🌟

From extra recess, pajama days, movies & popcorn, and classroom rewards to drawings for Amazon gift cards, JBL headphones, an Android tablet, and even a 32" Smart TV—there is plenty to work toward! 🎉 Students can also earn recognition through our Perfectly Royal Attendance and Faithful Attendance programs.

👀 Families, be sure to check out BOTH pages of the flyer to see all the ways students can earn rewards throughout the year!

Every day at school is another opportunity to learn, grow, connect, and succeed. We can’t wait to celebrate our students along the way! ❤️

We are so excited to celebrate our Present and Proud crowd! Thanks to the Brandywine School Association, students in the 25-26 school year with perfect attendance (0 days absent) earned tie-dye shirts, while those with faithful attendance (5 or fewer days) earned red shirts. We're excited to share that this will be a yearly tradition, so students can look forward to be recognized for their attendance every school year!

We often travel to other places to learn about history, but sometimes we overlook the incredible history right here at home.

On April 26, 1935, a fire destroyed Brandywine’s two-room school. For several years, students learned in temporary spaces—including rooms in local homes—until a united community effort and a WPA project made construction of a new six-room school, gymnasium, and stage possible. The building was dedicated on May 9, 1941.

One of our favorite pieces of that history is still right above us! When a new roof was needed, it was built over the original WPA-era roof structure, helping preserve a piece of our school’s past.

For generations, public education has given children in our rural community a place to learn, grow, belong, and dream about their futures. Public schools like ours have long been more than buildings. They are gathering places, opportunity providers, community centers, and keepers of our shared history.

If you attended Brandywine or have a favorite memory, story, or old photo, share it in the comments! We would love to hear the history that lives in the memories of our community.

Because a school with this much history doesn't just belong to the students sitting in its classrooms today.

It belongs to generations. ❤️🏫
