Franklin Elementary School

Good afternoon! Please join us for 2026-2027 Preschool and Kindergarten Registration. Families can register at Franklin Elementary School on Friday, February 6 from 8:30-11:30 and Brandywine Elementary School from 1:00-3:00. Registration at North Fork Elementary will occur on Friday, February 13 from 8:30-10:30. Parents should bring a certified birth certificate, current immunization records, social security card, dental form, well-child check, and any court-ordered guardianship documentation. Students already enrolled in PreK do not need to register again for Kindergarten. Please contact Carrie Nesselrodt at (304) 358-2207 with questions or to set up a separate registration appointment.

After several weather-related delays, we are happy to announce the winner of our Kiss the Pig fundraiser! It was a close race, with only a $1.27 difference. Mrs. Hevener was the winner and bravely kissed the adorable little piglet! The piglet, named Wilber by Ms. Moore, was so irresistibly cute that he ended up getting lots of extra kisses, too. The kids especially loved seeing their teachers kiss the little piggy!

Don't forget tomorrow, Wednesday, January 21st, is "Bank at School. Please make sure your student brings some money to deposit if they have an account. It is not too late to sign up. You can still submit their application, and they can make a deposit. There is no minimum deposit amount.

Mrs. Nine-Miller's 6B class won a classroom celebration for having the highest attendance rate for the month of December. Their attendance rate was 99.7% for the month!

Yesterday, 11 amazing students from FES traveled to North Fork Elementary School for the County Social Studies/Science Fair—and they all placed! We are so proud of their hard work and success. A big thank-you to our students, parents, and teachers for their incredible support!

🚨 Tomorrow, January 6th, students participating in the Science and Social Studies Fair will travel to North Fork Elementary for presentations. Students participating have already been notified via their respective schools. If your child is participating, please remind him/her to come prepared with all project materials.

Families are welcome to attend the awards ceremony, planned for around 1:00 p.m. in the North Fork Elementary gym. The ceremony will be shared on our YouTube channel, either live or as a recording.

Ms. Sharon Granofski worked with our preschoolers to prepare them for their Christmas concert. Our littlest students did a wonderful job singing, playing instruments, and dancing. We were pleased to welcome so many parents who came to support the students. After the concert, families were invited back to the classroom to enjoy milk and cookies together.

Yesterday, we celebrated the end of the second nine weeks. Students who earned the reward enjoyed playing bingo. They could win all sorts of prizes, including little toys, books, and experiences like visiting with one of their former teachers.

Today was Grinch Day! We loved seeing all of our cute, Grinchy kids. There are lots more fun dress-up days coming up this week, and we can’t wait to see everyone’s creativity shine!
