Pendleton County Schools are committed to the safety and education of all our students. Essential to this commitment is open communication with our families and school community about any potential issues when they arise. Pendleton County Middle/High School administration communicated the following message to their school families today. As you may be aware, there are rumors circulating today about the threat of school violence based on a photo being circulated on social media across West Virginia. Similar rumors are spreading in many communities across the country and other school districts. We will continue to monitor this situation and have consulted with local and state police. Based on the information received from law enforcement the threat has been discredited. Again, the safety of our students and staff is our top priority, and we appreciate our law enforcement agencies keeping our school safe and secure. We will continue to monitor the situation.
