
BES 6th graders enjoyed an outdoor science class today looking for Praying Mantis Egg Sacks. 15 Egg Sacks were found and will be relocated to Deans Gap Farm's High Tunnel. The hatched Praying Mantis will eat harmful insects keeping the High Tunnel pesticide free. 😎

We have reopened enrollment for our Summer Success Academy! This program is for upcoming K-12 graders. Current students in Grades 9-12 will focus on credit recovery. Due to the cancellation of school today, the BES Book Fair will be open this coming Monday, March 13th. We will follow the same afternoon schedule from this past Wednesday and Thursday starting with Kindergarten at 12:15. Parents are welcome. Hope to see you there!

Families, don't forget tomorrow is the Open House Night for our book fair! We have a large variety of books for very reasonable prices. Books can be purchased on the stage from 5-7pm tomorrow, Thursday, March 9th. See you there!




Our BES Book Fair will start tomorrow, March 8th. Parents are welcome! Please refer to the BES website post or our Facebook post for class times and details. The paper copy that was sent home had one incorrect class time. Please call BES with any questions.

Yesterday BES students participated in a Read-A-Thon from 1:30-3:00. Students wore pajamas, brought in a pillow/blanket, and snacked on popcorn while reading. Students read numerous genres nonfiction and fiction. Buddy reading, Read alouds, myOn, and novels were some favorites📚










Congratulations to these BES students for placing in the county CIS Bus Safety Poster Contest. Well done and the posters look awesome! 🚌😁👌👌


Last week was a busy one for BES students. Storyteller, Adam Booth told stories and provided writing workshops. Experience Learning also visited to tap maple trees and teach the process for making maple syrup. Students enjoyed both events while learning outside of the classroom!

Spring Picture Day will be at BES next Wednesday, March 1st. Individual student pictures and class pictures will be taken. No payment is due upfront for individual student photos.
After these pictures are taken, a packet of pictures will be sent home for you to decide if you want to purchase. Please remember if you do not want any of these pictures, you simply return them to the school.

Today's school counselor to be recognized is Ms. Kellee Waddell; she feels that this position gives her an opportunity to remind students how wonderful they are. Her role is to support each student to be the best "them" they can be and to develop social and emotional skills.


Today's school counselor to be recognized is Ms. Victoria Rhodes who aspires to contribute positively to the school culture where students, families, and teachers feel seen, heard, and supported. Ms. Rhodes' advice is to never assume you what someone else is thinking.
