Congratulations to the 8th grade for having the highest attendance rate in November. They enjoyed cookies and hot cocoa with some free time!
Also, students who missed one day or less in December had a fun time watching grade levels and staff play volleyball. (Congrats to staff for winning the championship!) A special thanks to Board Member, Sonny O'Neil for being our ref today!

The holiday season...Thanksgiving and Christmas wouldn't be the same without food and goodies. Mrs. Heavner's Food Preparation course students have been learning the importance of time management when it come to prepping for the holiday meals.
In November, students researched, made and enjoyed homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, mini pumpkin pies, and a turkey veggie tray served with dill dip and goat cheese dip.
In December, students made and enjoyed anything and everything that could be dipped in chocolate.

If you have read Joseph had a little overcoat, you would you understand making something out of nothing is a creative way to look at life. This year in Mrs. Heavner's Early Childhood Education Courses, students are doing just that. During the 2nd 9-weeks, students have been challenge to thinking of activities for children that focus on 'making something out of nothing'.
When developing a lesson plan for their Grow Your Own course assignment, one student chose to use leftover gift wrapping supplies and garland to fill plastic ornaments for the holiday (photo 2).
Students were to think outside the box with their annual Christmas Ornaments this year, starting with only a canning ring. Random supplies were used to create one-of-a-kind ornaments using the simple canning ring and left over arts and craft supplies from the family and consumer science department. The ornaments were given out to PCMHS teachers, FES observation teachers and C.A.N (photo 3).
During one of our recent, non-traditional school days, students were asked to create an item from materials they could find around their home (photos 4 & 5).
